A Love Eternal.

Charlene and Tyler's Gothic Wedding

Introduction:

Love knows no bounds, and for Charlene and Tyler Langeland, their wedding was a testament to the beauty of embracing uniqueness.

On October 21, 2023, R&R Weddings and Events in Vicksburg, Michigan, witnessed the union of this extraordinary couple, both of whom share a passion for the mortuary arts. The theme for their special day? 'Til Death Do Us Part, a beautifully gothic celebration that was as unique as their love story.

Setting the Scene:

The venue exuded an air of dark romance as guests entered to witness Charlene and Tyler exchange vows. At the heart of the ceremony stood a stunning coffin-shaped altar, symbolizing their eternal commitment to one another. Against this backdrop, their love story unfolded, entwined with elements of elegance and gothic charm. The bouquets were black, maroon, and champagne faux flowers with gold accents. The bridal party wore all black, with the gentlemen sporting maroon bowties. The bride's dress was a sweetheart strapless with a champagne underlayer adorned with elegant black lace on top, and detached black lace sleeves. The groom wore a well-tailored black tuxedo.

A Brief History:

I first met Charlene at Meghan and Amber Kennedy's wedding back on June 26, 2021, where she stood as their officiant and married the couple during a beautiful summer day. She and Tyler were very obviously in love. I witnessed many shared glances and heartfelt moments throughout the night. How fitting it was that Meghan Kennedy acted as the officiant for the Langeland wedding, in turn.

Charlene was also a bridesmaid for Kaylyn Kolesar in her wedding on September 9, 2023, and it is very fitting that she also returned that favor here.

(Keep an eye out for a fun blog coming about this wonderful friend group and how amazing it has been getting to know each of them and watching their lives grow and change. It all started with one couple that led to a chain of referrals that stretches back to 2018!)

Love and Life:

In early March of 2022, we went to a local cemetery to create their engagement photo session. Little did we know, Charlene was already carrying their child. They were gorgeous as we pulled off the coolest spooky Adams Family-inspired engagement session. They were set to be wed in February of 2023 but decided to postpone the wedding to allow time to acclimate to their new growing family. A wonderful decision, because that led us to their perfect October wedding.

Charlene and Tyler, both dedicated morticians, found love in the macabre. Their shared interests not only brought them together but also shaped the theme of their wedding. Their little girl, Arlene, an adorable gothic baby, added a delightful touch of sweetness to the solemn affair. Together, they embarked on a journey of love, unity, and eternal devotion.

Décor Delights:

The gothic aesthetic was flawlessly executed through carefully chosen decorations. Gold candelabras illuminated the space, casting a warm and enchanting glow. Anatomically correct heart vases added a subtle yet striking touch, seamlessly blending beauty and darkness. Each guest's gift bag featured toe tags, providing a subtle nod to the couple's unique profession, seamlessly blending into the gothic elegance of the occasion.

Capturing Memories:

To ensure every precious moment was immortalized, Charlene and Tyler enlisted our team at Capturing Compersion Photography, comprising a main photographer, a second photographer, and a videographer. The resulting imagery beautifully captured the essence of their 'Til Death Do Us Part theme. For posed photos, the couple ventured outside, where smoke bombs utilized against the overcast sky and the rich hues of autumn along the nearby Sunset Lake and train tracks provided a surreal and dramatic backdrop for the visual narrative of the day.

In Conclusion:

Charlene and Tyler Langeland's wedding was an unforgettable celebration of love, unity, and the beauty found in the unconventional. From the elegant gothic décor to the heartfelt moments shared between family and friends, every aspect of their special day reflected their unique journey. As they embarked on this new chapter together, surrounded by love and cherished memories, their union stood as a testament to the enduring power of love, truly eternal in its elegance and grace.
